The role involves diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of dermatologic conditions in small animals, including allergic, autoimmune, infectious, and parasitic diseases. Key duties include performing necessary dermatologic procedures like skin scrapings, cytologies, and biopsies, while collaborating with specialists and educating clients on treatment plans.
Candidates must possess a DVM or equivalent degree and be board-certified or residency-trained in Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD or ECVD), along with holding or obtaining an active veterinary license. Strong requirements include excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and client service.
