The primary duties involve performing radiological procedures under a radiologist's direction to provide quality images for diagnosis, which includes preparing and positioning patients and accurately selecting exposure factors. Responsibilities also cover preparing and administering contrast media, observing patients, monitoring safety protocols, and ensuring the prompt submission of high-quality images to PACS.
Candidates must graduate from an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology and possess specific required credentials such as BLS Provider within one month of hire, with potential requirements for Bone Density Certification within six months if applicable. Acceptable primary credentials include those from CCI, ARRT (Radiography or Sonography), or ARDMS.
