Family Service League is seeking a part-time Bilingual Spanish Social Worker for the Family Place Library in Riverhead. The Bilingual Social Worker will serve the library patrons at the Riverhead Free Library with social and emotional needs and provide case management, short-term counseling and crisis intervention, and facilitate referrals to mental health clinics and other community-based programs.
Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field required.
Two years of relevant clinical experience required.
At least one year of prior experience working with individuals with mental illness and their families required. Demonstrated knowledge of community resources is also required.
Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and referral processing required.
Must be able to perform suicide risk assessments and provide short term counseling.
Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office required.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required.
Bilingual in Spanish required.
