The Nurse Practitioner provides assistant surgical services in the operating room under the surgeon's direction, including assisting with prepping, closing incisions, and removing drains and tubes. They also manage patient office visits, assume call duties, and handle all necessary charting and documentation for care and billing.
A Master's Degree in Nursing, specifically a Nurse Practitioner Degree or equivalent program certificate, is required, along with at least one year of clinical experience. Candidates must possess an active SC Nurse Practitioner license and CPR Certification, or have completed a Nurse Practitioner Surgical Residency Program.
