The Scheduling Coordinator-Specialty Clinic is responsible for coordinating the provider’s surgery and clinic schedules, acting as the first line representative to hospitals and surgery centers for scheduling appointments and operative procedures. This role involves accurately coordinating appointments, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, and managing the provider's complex schedule using scheduling software.
Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of clerical experience within a medical environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred for this role.

The Scheduling Coordinator-Specialty Clinic is responsible for providing coordination of the provider’s surgery and clinic schedules. This is a clerical position which is the first line representative to the hospitals and surgery centers and is responsible for scheduling appointments and operative procedures. This position works as a team member of the clinic. Responsibilities Coordinates the scheduling of appointments and surgical procedures accurately, recognizing the importance and relationship to patient care Verifies insurance benefits Obtains insurance pre-certification and authorization as required Coordinates and schedules patient appointments to include pre-op, pre-admit and post-op appointments Schedules all meetings for provider, including attorney and vendor meetings Maintains, coordinates and manipulates provider clinic schedule to accommodate surgical cases, CME, vacation, court appearance, attorney depositions and all other meetings for the provider, using both Epic and MS Outlook programs Requirements High school graduate or equivalent preferred Minimum two (2) years of clerical experience in a medical environment Why MultiCare Cancer Institute? As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.58 - $35.36 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
