The RN Surgery Float will provide nursing care in an operative setting, performing both scrub and circulating functions for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures. This includes preparing the OR, instruments, and equipment, as well as monitoring and communicating the patient's condition before, during, and after the procedure.
Requirements summary
Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ASN, or BSN) and current Registered Nurse licensure, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six months of hire for areas performing moderate/procedural sedation.

A caregiver in this position works rotating days/evenings from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 3:00PM – 3:30PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.
Perform circulating functions, including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ASN or BSN program) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within six months of hire in areas performing moderate/procedural sedation Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) One year of RN experience Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
