The technologist performs all approved laboratory procedures across assigned licensure specialties to meet workload demands, coordinating lab resources as necessary. This includes precisely executing and evaluating technical procedures using various methodologies and ensuring adherence to quality control techniques.
Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or a Bachelor's Degree in Biology or Chemistry, along with a Clinical Laboratory Technologist Certification from ASCP or AMT. Work experience requires licensure in all five specialties: Microbiology, Serology, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunohematology.
