Weekend Companion team members will provide in-home support to clients, focusing on promoting independence and mobility while emphasizing emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Duties include personal care, assisting with nutritional needs, and performing proper restorative care exercises.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and hold an active Certified Nurse's Aide certification listed on the South Carolina Nurse Aide Registry in good standing, with required experience in all aspects of long-term care for the elderly. Applicants must also be physically capable of required tasks and possess reliable transportation to travel throughout Charleston County.

Our Bishop Gadsden at Home Department is seeking Weekend Companion team members to provide in home support to clients that promotes independence and mobility with an emphasis on emotional, psychological and social well-being. The successful candidate will have compassion for and the desire to work with the elderly.
Provide personal care for clients, including bathing, showering, shampooing, oral hygiene, skin care, hair care, nail care, dressing, and shaving as needed. Assist clients with nutritional needs including serving, feeding, and providing proper fluid requirements. Assist with proper restorative care including range-of motion exercises, proper positioning, and ambulation. Encourage client independence and optimal level of functioning. Exercise standard precautions of infection control in all client care. Exchange client information with supervisor via communications binder. Launder clients’ personal items as needed. Maintain a pleasant, respectful, and courteous demeanor.
What We Need In A Candidate: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred. Experience in all aspects of long-term care for the elderly required. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be a Certified Nurse's Aide listed on the South Carolina Nurse Aide Registry with an active certification and be in good standing. Able to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written Willingness to travel to clients throughout Charleston County Has reliable transportation to and from James Island.
