Licensed Practical Nurses interact with and support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in various settings, providing care that enhances their health, safety, dignity, and contentment. This involves assisting and training individuals in personal care, communication, and social skill development, often supporting those with complex medical needs and challenging behaviors.
Candidates must possess a current LPN license in the Commonwealth of PA, and one year of LPN experience is preferred. A genuine interest in working with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities is essential, and a valid PA driver's license with reliable transportation may be required.
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our IDD team in our Crafton, PA location.
Our Licensed Practical Nurse interact and support our adults in a variety of potential settings and provide a level of care that enhances the health, safety, dignity, and contentment of every individual served by assisting and training them in the areas of personal care, communication, and social skill development. In addition, most of the people we serve have multiple physical disabilities, extensive medical complications and may require supports for challenging behaviors. This position is located in our PHMC facility that operates as a 45-50 bed location.
Merakey AVS is a non-profit organization which provides homes and a full range of services to adults with all levels of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The majority of the nearly 800 individuals that we support are diagnosed with severe or profound IDD. In addition, most of the people we serve have multiple physical disabilities, extensive medical complications and may require supports for challenging behaviors.
