The Certified Surgical Tech functions as the primary scrub technologist for various procedures, ensuring the maintenance of a sterile field and applying aseptic techniques. They are responsible for creating a safe and cost-effective environment for all patients.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program. They also need BLS certification within 14 days of hire and current certification from an approved surgical technologist program.
Functions as primary scrub technologist for a variety of routine and complex procedures, while consistently demonstrating clinical skills with confidence and competence. Individual is responsible for ensuring, along with other surgical team members, that they maintain the sterile field, applying aseptic technique principles to ensure a safe, aseptic, and cost-effective environment to all patients that clearly spells quality and excellence.
