Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) help provide supervision and support to clients in our residential group home setting.

We offer ongoing education, experiences and a supportive staff that emphasizes the individual's role in making choices to give them greater control of the direction of their life.

You would provide hands-on, person-centered individualized care and support for our residents.

DSPs/Residential Behavior Specialists work with a supportive team that includes the Residential Manager and others to support four residents in our home.

Education, Experience and Skills Needed

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience required working with individuals who have autism and developmental disabilities; 3+ years of experience preferred
  • High School diploma
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak in English proficiently
  • Ability to speak, see & hear clearly/audibly, as well as write legibly for documentation
  • Basic computer skills
  • Professional and respectful communication skills with clients and their families or other parties
  • Ability to intervene with clients when needed to implement behavioral inventions including physical restraint, lifting and transporting in personal vehicle or company van
  • General responsibilities as assigned such as house cleaning, assistance with toileting/showering, job coaching, role modeling, etc.
  • Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, reach and/or move regularly
  • Valid driver's license for at least 3 years, with a registered and insured vehicle
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (We provide training if needed)
  • MAP Certification for medication administration (We provide training if needed)
  • Safety Care Certification (We provide training if needed)

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and at least one year of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. Must possess a valid driver's license, be able to lift 50 pounds, and be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR, MAP, and Safety Care certifications.
