The clinical staff assists patients by providing information and maintaining medical supplies, while also preparing patients for examinations and securing patient information. They are responsible for scheduling surgeries and maintaining a safe work environment.
Candidates must graduate from an accredited medical assisting, surgical technology, or practical nursing program and hold current certification or licensure. Knowledge of infection control and the ability to communicate effectively with patients are also required.
Graduation from an accredited medical assisting, surgical technology or practical nursing program Current certification or licensure with no restrictions Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting Use and apply medical terminology appropriately Thorough knowledge of general clinical principles, methodology and measures for outcomes Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
