About the role

Provide expert rheumatology care in a 100% outpatient setting, managing conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and osteoporosis. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of orthopedic specialists and participate in general orthopedic call.

OrthoVirginia, the premier orthopedic/musculoskeletal practice in Virginia, has opportunities for board-certified/board-eligible Rheumatologists to join our practice in the Lynchburg, VA areas.

About OrthoVirginia

OrthoVirginia is the premier orthopedic practice in the state of Virginia. We have specialists in physiatry, general orthopedics, joint replacement, spine surgery, sports medicine, hand and foot & ankle surgery, rheumatology, sports medicine-trained primary care physicians, and physical and occupational therapy. We also have MRI, injection suites, after-hours clinics, surgery centers, and expanded therapy services.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will work alongside specialists in general orthopedics, joint replacement, sports medicine, and orthopedic trauma. Our practice offers a direct pathway to becoming a shareholding physician and the potential for participation in ancillary revenues such as imaging and physical therapy.

This is a private practice/partnership track opportunity. As such, candidates should be prepared to participate in general orthopedic call.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in Rheumatology
  • Trained to care for general orthopedic conditions
  • Board Certification/Eligibility
  • MD or DO degree
  • Active/eligibility for Virginia state licensure

Common Procedures

  • Diagnosis and management of rheumatoid arthritis
  • Treatment of osteoarthritis
  • Management of lupus and other autoimmune diseases
  • Joint injections (corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid)
  • Ultrasound-guided procedures
  • Management of gout and pseudogout
  • Treatment of vasculitis
  • Management of fibromyalgia
  • Bone density testing and management of osteoporosis
  • Infusion therapy for rheumatic diseases

Compensation Range for this position

$300,000 - $400,000

Requirements

Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and be board-certified or board-eligible in Rheumatology. Active or eligible Virginia state licensure is required.
