Under the direction of an RN Preceptor, the graduate nurse performs delegated nursing tasks based on demonstrated competence, including patient assessments covering biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and age-appropriate needs. Responsibilities also involve developing patient/family education plans, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring accurate documentation.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and eligible to practice as determined by the State Board of Nursing, with less than one year of experience as an RN. Specific licensing requirements vary by state, generally requiring BLS certification and passing the NCLEX within a specified timeframe.
