The technologist prepares patients, executes specialty radiologic examinations, and assists physicians during procedures while ensuring image quality and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities also include cross-training, training new staff, maintaining equipment, and accurately completing all necessary data entry and documentation.
Candidates must be registered by ARRT (CT) and hold a current Florida General Radiographer license, along with BLS/CPR certification. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience is required, including proficiency in advanced CT procedures and 3D post-processing, or the ability to perform all CT exams listed for a CT Tech II.

Summary: Position Responsibilities Prepares patients for examination, e.g.: positions, and executes specialty radiologic examinations. In addition, assists radiologist/physician in patient care during procedure. Reviews patient medical record(s) to verify physician's order prior to examination. Cross trains in other specialty areas/departments/facilities when work load demands to enhance skills outside assigned specialty clinical area. Inspects films for quality, and monitors all films with respect to proper patient name, date and medical record number prior to interpretation by Radiologist. Assists with training of new technologists and technical assistants in all phases of assigned procedures, as requested by supervisor/manager/director. Demonstrates competency and observes safety guidelines when operating all specialized equipment in assigned clinical area. Implements Standard Precautions on all patients, as directed by hospital policy. Adjusts to variable schedules and/or procedure techniques that may be required at times. Adheres to MSMC established Personnel Radiation dosimeter Policy as observed by supervisor and as documented in department protocol. Reports all equipment malfunctions to lead tech/supervisor and clinical engineering immediately. Maintains and stocks room with proper supplies necessary to complete radiologic examinations. Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of computer programs, particularly the EPIC and SYNAPSE systems. Completes exam data entry on all studies performed on a daily basis, as well as any other necessary paperwork associated with each case. Attends monthly department staff meetings as scheduled. Proficient in Coronary Angio, Cystogram, Virtual Colonography, TAVR, Enterography, Rectal Contrast. Proficient in Peripheral IV Catheter placement. Proficient in Performing & Documenting Phantom Quality Control on Siemens & GE Scanners. Proficient in operating Siemens & GE CT units. Proficient in 3D post-processing (Circle Of Willis, Aorta, Boney Extremities, Carotids, Cardiac). Proficient in 3D imaging and post processing of Cardiac CTA studies. Ability to set-up protocols for advanced exams with Radiologist. Ability to serve as department lead, delegate tasks, and manage the work flow in Managers absence. Qualifications License/Registration/Certification Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) (CT) and hold a current Florida General Radiographer license from the Department of HRS, Radiation Control. BLS/CPR certification required. Education Graduate of an AMA Accredited Educational Radiologic Technology Program for Radiologic Technology or equivalent. Experience 3 years of clinical experience and/or be able to perform all CT exams listed for CT Tech II plus perform 3D post processing of specialty CT procedures.
