The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care in accordance with physician orders and care plans. They must collaborate with the healthcare team to identify patient problems and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Candidates must hold a valid, unencumbered nursing license in the state of service and possess current CPR certification and TB test results. Reliable transportation and the physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds are also required.
Registered Nurse (RN) Job Overview Title Registered Nurse- Non-Exempt Job Summary Registered Nurse is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care and reports to Case Managers and Clinical Nurse Supervisor. In collaboration with the MGA personnel, RN will render skilled nursing care in accordance with the care developed for each individual patient and in accordance with Physician’s orders.
Provides skilled nursing as ordered on the plan of treatment and nursing care plan. Demonstrates and documents clinical skills. Each shift or visit reflects the provision of skilled nursing care rendered in accordance with physician’s orders New Problems, changes, and/or resolution of problems are identified and followed through as follows: Director/Supervisory notification Physical notification to obtain necessary orders for intervention(s) per stat regulations Documentation of same on clinical notes, supplemental physician orders and nursing care plan Observe aseptic technique as required Performs specific treatments and medication administration as per care plan Functions as a team member demonstrating collaboration with and responsibility to the patient, Physician, and health care team. Identifies issues of concern and demonstrates critical thinking skills. Displays correct skilled nursing care that reflects compliance with State, Federal regulations. Performs related work as assigned. Participation in the Agency’s other mandated activities as requested by the Agency’s Director such as In-Services, education and committee work related to patient care. Supports and executes the mission, ethics, and goals of the company effectively All clinical documentation must be completed accurately and submitted timely per agency policy/guidelines. Represents themselves in a positive and professional manner in the company and community. Adheres to dress code with a clean and neat professional appearance. Reports on time and as scheduled in order to complete work within designated time. Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlines in the Employee Handbook, Employees Agreement, or communicated from executive team Requirements Hold a valid/unencumbered verification/license to practice the job as described in the state where services are provided. Reliable transportation. Provide copy of current TB results or Chest x-ray. Provide copy of current CPR certification as per agency policy. Be flexible, organized and have the ability to exercise independent and sound judgment to perform the job duties/responsibilities. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly, sit, stand, stop, bend, kneel, walk, balance, crouch, crawl, push, pull and reach with hands and arms and other physical activities as deemed necessary buy job duties. Vision and Hearing capabilities within normal limits, with or without aid. Ability to frequently lift and or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift or move 100 pounds or more if applicable. Ability to perform the anticipated level of physical assist required to provide safe client care. If the anticipated level of assist is greater than that which the employee can safely provide, the supervisor ids to be notified immediately. Work Environment The work environment is highly variable, as care is generally provided in private homes. Lighting, acoustics, air quality, temperature and environment hazards are not predictable. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, household pets/animals, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is required to travel frequently to complete home health visits.
