About the role

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the assistant provides physical therapy services to help patients develop, recover, and maintain physical mobility and function by implementing prescribed treatment plans. This includes monitoring patient responses, documenting progress, educating patients and families, and assisting with discharge planning and adaptive equipment selection.

How you’ll contribute

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapists using appropriate modalities.

Seeks consultation as necessary.

Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.

Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.

Documents services provided and patient response/progress.

Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.

Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree Required; Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
  • Physical Therapy Assistant in the State
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Requirements

Candidates must possess an Associate's degree and be a graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant program, along with holding current Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required for this role.
