Physical Therapists test muscle strength, the amount of flexibility in joints, and the ability to walk or move.
Treatments include exercises to increase strength, range of motion, endurance, and coordination, the use of heat, cold, electricity, or even aquatics to relieve pain, and teaching exercises and body mechanics to avoid injury or regain function.
Since this position requires physical interaction with patients, Physical Therapists are highly connected with patients and build stronger patient relationships than most other health sciences specialists.
Often, physical therapy patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important.
Equally important is giving patients the drive and support they need to work hard and regain their health.
30AM – 4:00PM or 10:00AM – 6:00PM.
The position requires flexibility in hours and locations, covering Weston outpatient PT Clinics at Krupa, the YMCA and potentially Parkland.
Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
Interpret plans and supervise patient treatments in accordance with the physician referral, ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of the patient.
Review and evaluate the patient's response or lack thereof to treatment.
Make recommendations to the physician relative to the need to continue or discontinue physical therapy treatment.
Provide appropriate documentation of each patient visit in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Be responsible for the maintenance and care of all equipment and apparatus.
Be responsible for the economical use of supplies, linens and utilities.
Provide appropriate billing for each patient visit in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Assist in on-the-job training of all ancillary personnel.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
