The Surgical Technician Certified handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. Key duties include preparing the sterile field, passing instruments to the surgeon, and maintaining sterile technique throughout the operation.
Certification is required upon hire in both NJ and PA, with new graduates needing to obtain certification within six months. A minimum of 1.5 years of on-the-job training is also required, along with an 8-week concentrated orientation period.
