The primary responsibility involves observing electrocardiogram (ECG) monitors and closed-circuit television (CCTV) to detect changes in patient rate, rhythm, and the occurrence of arrhythmias. This includes reporting all arrhythmias to the responsible nurse, obtaining documentary strips, and ensuring emergency equipment is cleaned and checked.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of one year of experience as a Nursing Attendant/Telemetry Technician in a hospital setting, or successful completion of an Advanced Medical Technician program or a CCU course. Essential qualifications include the ability to operate cardiac monitors and EKG machines, and effective communication skills.
