The Medical Laboratory Technician performs waived, moderate, and highly complex laboratory tests, assuming responsibility for testing, problem-solving, and quality control. Duties also include training new staff and students, performing maintenance on instrumentation, and accurately documenting laboratory results.
Candidates must have an associate degree in medical laboratory technology and be ASCP eligible, having successfully completed an accredited MLT program. The role requires performing various laboratory tests, maintaining equipment, and adhering to strict documentation and quality control protocols.
