The Telemetry Technician continuously observes and interprets assigned ECG rhythm monitors from a centralized location, ensuring prompt response to alarms or ECG changes by correctly identifying rhythms and escalating notifications as per established processes. Duties include performing telemetry monitoring activities, overseeing and communicating cardiac patterns, accurately documenting findings in the EHR, and processing patient orders related to admissions, transfers, and discharges.
A minimum of a High School Diploma/G.E.D. and one year of applicable experience are required, along with the successful completion and yearly passing of the SEH/SEP ECG class with a minimum score of 85% and 100% on lethal arrhythmias. Candidates must be quick learners, adaptable, able to work well under pressure in a group setting, and possess excellent communication and critical analysis skills.

Oversee and communicate cardiac patterns on telemetric devices Ensures complete and accurate information in the Electronic Health Record Document irregular rhythms and monitor changes in heartbeat. Communicates in an effective and professional manner with patients, providers, support employees, co-workers, and management. Contributes to the development of protocols, procedures, patient education, and training as assigned. Participates in peer review, quality assurance, and other committee functions. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Appropriately processes admissions, transfers, and discharge orders. Assist in the orientation of new telemetry technician personnel Knowledge of Electronic Health Records – (EPIC). EDUCATION: Minimum: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Complete SEH/SEP ECG class and pass exam yearly minimum score of 85% and 100% on lethal arrhythmias YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum: 1 year of applicable experience. Must be a quick learner, adaptable, able to work in pressure situations, able work well in a group setting, and coachable and open to learning a new skill.
