The Pharmacy Technician will prepare and dispense medications, including compounding sterile products, under pharmacist supervision, while also supporting workflow efficiency and maintaining accurate medication inventory. Key duties involve delivering medications to patient care areas, tracking controlled substances, and ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and hold a current, active California certified pharmacy technician license. Required qualifications also include experience with IV admixtures and compounding, along with proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
As a full time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.
This full-time, nonexempt position will work up to 40 hours/week in a variety of shifts.
Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency Prepare and compound medications (including IV admixtures and sterile products) following hospital protocols and USP standards Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing units Maintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates Support medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulations
