Opportunity: We are seeking to hire a full-time/40 hour Psychiatrist to join our Psychiatric Services Team. This individual provides psychiatric assessment and services to severely mentally ill adults at Community Support Services, Inc. The Psychiatrist functions as liaison between
CSS, the medical community and the
State facilities: assists other clinical staff in developing individualized service plans for individuals served by the agency.
What
You’ll Do: Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication evaluations. Administer somatic therapies, including prescriptions and periodic review of medications, including drug interactions and medication side effects Monitor the physical health of agency clients using appropriate labs and evaluation of movement disorders. Perform assessments of mentally ill adults through reviewing clinical records and attaining collateral information. Lead interdisciplinary treatment team(s). Provide clinical consultation to professional and paraprofessional staff. Assist in reviewing the effectiveness of adult programs. May provide liaison with medical community, CSS and State facilities. Maintain safety and security of clients, while ensuring the use of least restrictive methods. Determine the need for, and request referrals to obtain services of other medical specialists. Provide coordination of treatment for the physical health of clients for services being provided by CSS or in the community. Examine and certify patients requiring involuntary psychiatric evaluation pursuant to the provisions of the Mental Health Code.

Patients 4:00 – 5:00 pm – Administrative Time *Psychiatrists attend medical staff meetings from 12:00 – 1:00 pm twice a month. There are currently no offsite assignments, including hospitals. There is no initial supervision of residents or APNS. These responsibilities are assigned as needed and only after adequate experience with the agency is gained (1 and 2 years respectively). During your initial two weeks of employment, you will spend time shadowing other providers, completing orientation responsibilities, and learning the basic functioning of the clinic/agency. When you begin seeing patients on your own, you will initially have an hour scheduled for each visit, allowing you extra time to get to know your patients, review charts, and complete your notes. After your initial meeting, existing patient follow-up visits are normally scheduled at 30-minute intervals, and psychiatric evaluations are scheduled for one hour.

A minimum of one year of post academic experience providing adult psychiatric services preferred. Must be licensed to practice medicine in Ohio and must be Board eligible in psychiatry.
