Assesses the nutritional status of patients followed by implementation of appropriate care plans. Plans and directs preparation of modified diets as prescribed by the medical staff of patients with therapeutic diet needs. Responsible for patient nutrition care, diet instruction and nutrition presentations as requested.
Assesses the nutritional status of patients.
Develops and implements appropriate medical nutrition therapy plans utilizing the Nutrition Care Process.
Counsels patients/families in appropriate home nutritional management.
Assists physicians with the nutritional management of their patients by recommending appropriate medical nutritional therapy.
Documents pertinent data in the patient medical record.
Provides nutrition education presentations as requested for both community groups and medical center personnel.
Participates on medical center teams and committees as needed.
Participates in the clinical PI critical indicator data collection and analysis.
Participates in the education of outpatients as requested by the department director.
Performs other duties as necessary.
