The technician works under pharmacist supervision to provide pharmaceutical care by prioritizing and processing medication orders, preparing medications for dispensing, and distributing them to patient care locations. This role also involves performing data collection for limited quality programs and assisting the pharmacist in patient care services.
Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, experience in medication distribution, basic computer/typing/calculation/communication skills, and holding a CPHT certification along with State Board of Pharmacy registration. Preferred qualifications include experience with automated pharmacy equipment and previous hospital experience.
Works under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care services, while considering patient specific factors, through the prioritization and processing of medication orders, the preparing of medications for dispensing, distribution and stocking of patient care locations for subsequent drug administration. Performs data collections, assembly and interpretation for limited quality programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
