Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse assists with initial and ongoing patient assessment through observation and data collection, and performs delegated activities such as venipuncture, IV insertion/discontinuation, and catheterization. The LPN also administers physician-directed treatments, performs basic bedside care, and handles, prepares, and administers medications within their scope of practice.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an accredited LPN program, holding a current Practical Nurse license in the State of Michigan. Certification in CPR or BLS is also required for this role.
