About the role

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the Medical/Surgical Unit. This role involves providing direct patient care, guiding patient/family teaching, directing other nursing personnel, and communicating clinical condition changes to physicians.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Current and valid state RN License. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred. Ventilator Management experience preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status, i.e. full-time or part-time. The current compensation range for this role is $41.50 to $60.94. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure. Requirements

Candidates must possess a current and valid state RN License and current BLS certification upon hire, with ACLS certification preferred within 30 days. Previous acute care hospital experience and ventilator management experience are preferred, though a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is also listed as preferred.
