The Travel Registered Nurse will work in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Sentara Heart Hospital, caring for cardiac patients, including those with heart attacks, heart failure, and sepsis. This unit also functions as the Rapid Response Team (MRT) for the Heart Hospital.

Department/Unit Overview

  • 10 Bed Unit on the 2nd floor of the Sentara Heart Hospital
  • Patient population includes: Cardiac patients (not surgical), pulmonary hypertension, heart attacks, heart failure, sepsis, and this unit is the MRT for the Heart Hospital.
  • Education
  • Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
  • Certification/Licensure
  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale
  • Experience
  • Must have 2 or more years of recent acute care ICU hospital RN experience

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
