Key responsibilities

Administer prescribed radiation treatments according to the plan developed by a radiation oncologist.

Operate advanced radiation therapy equipment such as a Linear Accelerator to deliver radiation safely and accurately.

Position patients precisely using immobilization devices and imaging guidance.

Verify treatment parameters and ensure accuracy before each session.

Monitor patients during treatment and respond to any adverse reactions.

Maintain detailed records of treatments and patient responses.

Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and oncology nurses.

Follow radiation safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.

Provide education and emotional support to patients undergoing radiation therapy.

Participate in quality assurance and equipment checks.

Required qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or Radiologic Technology.

Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T).

State licensure if required by the state of employment.

Knowledge of radiation safety standards and oncology treatment procedures.

Requirements
