This role involves performing advanced computerized tomography procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic digital exams, often requiring independent judgment for procedures like biopsies and advanced 3D reconstructions. Essential duties include verifying prescriptions, explaining procedures to patients, administering contrast, positioning patients, operating CT equipment, processing images, and ensuring compliance with radiation safety protocols.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an accredited 2-year radiologic technology program. Required credentials include a current Florida State License (CRT), ARRT registry with CT registry, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
This position is accountable for performing advanced computerized tomography procedures which produce high quality of diagnostic digital exams. Works on a level not requiring constant supervision while demonstrating advanced CT skills and following protocols established for a various age groups of patients. This position includes Float technologist and those who perform a variety of advanced technical CT procedures (biopsies, advanced level 3D reconstructions) that will require judgement and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated area or procedures as required.
