Provides professional nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients during surgical procedures. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to prepare equipment and assist physicians while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Delivers professional and technical nursing care to pediatric(>2 years), adolescent, adult and geriatric patients undergoing surgical procedures in collaboration with care directed by the medical staff. Nursing care delivered complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation when delivering surgical nursing care. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with unit standards. Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient. Prepares equipment and assists physician during surgical procedures. Takes emergency call as assigned by the department head. Works assigned shifts but may be asked to work beyond the regular tour of duty as assigned by the department head or nursing supervisor. Position Qualification: Graduate from an approved nursing educational program as defined by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card One year Perioperative experience preferred Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills Positive affect, demonstrated leadership and time management skills Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological conditions Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced and stressful environment Required Licenses/Certifications: Current Florida RN License Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card Must clear background and drug test required.
