The Physician in Oncology provides quality direct patient care, which includes evaluating, treating, managing care, coordinating referrals, and educating patients and their families. This role also involves collecting and maintaining patient medical information and providing training to medical staff.
Core Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations for new oncology patients. Assess patient history, labs, imaging, and pathology to formulate accurate diagnoses. Develop and manage individualized treatment plans based on evidence‑based care. Enter and manage Beacon infusion orders, including updates and modifications. Provide ongoing monitoring through scheduled follow‑up visits. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless care delivery. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology or Hematology/Oncology. Active California medical license (or ability to obtain). Pay Range is $432,016.00 to $702,998.40 / annual salary The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
