The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients, utilizing the nursing process and available resources to provide care. Responsibilities include performing head-to-toe assessments, administering medications including chemotherapy, managing ports, and providing emotional support to patients and families.
Candidates must be licensed Registered Professional Nurses in Illinois and obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days, requiring a College Diploma in Nursing and over one year of prior inpatient hospital experience. Required duties involve specialized oncology skills, documentation standards, and continuous patient evaluation.

30 beds Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit): 18-year-old and older Nurse to Patient ratio: 4-6 patients to 1 RN Department culture and resources: Oncology Nursing Society support education and resources, Active Department Shared Governance, Mentor/Mentee Program for New Grads and for those looking for Oncology Nursing Certification Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: Oncology skill set (inpatient chemotherapy and radiation), palliative and end of life care and general medical patients. The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution.
