The Physical Therapy Assistant provides skilled Physical Therapy services to patients in their homes under the direction of a Registered Physical Therapist, assisting in evaluations, developing plans of care, and instructing patients and families on exercise programs. Responsibilities also include preparing clinical notes, observing patient reactions to treatment, and consulting with the PT regarding home visit outcomes.
Candidates must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the State of Florida, having graduated from an accredited PTA curriculum or an equivalent program, and must have passed the national examination for PTAs. Essential requirements include current CPR certification, passing a criminal background check, and the physical ability to drive, access homes, and assist with patient movement up to 250 pounds.
