About the role

Licensed Practical Nurses assist the Resident Care Director with implementing and coordinating resident care services, including developing care plans, coordinating care, and documenting resident files according to state regulations. They also assist in monitoring medication management and have some staff supervisory duties within the Resident Care Department.

Job Summary

Licensed Practical Nurse are responsible for assisting the Resident Care Director with the overall implementation, delivery and coordination of Resident Care services at the Community. The nurses will recommend a plan of care for existing residents, coordinate the resident’s care, and document resident files according to state regulations. Will also assist in monitoring the community’s medication management program. Will have some staff supervisory responsibilities within Resident Care Department. This position ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and standards set forth by the State in which Community operates.

Duties and Responsibilities

include but are not limited to: · Maintain current resident care plans on all residents under his/her care. · Closely mentors, guides and directs nursing staff · Follow physician's orders · Transcribe physician's orders promptly and accurately · Review resident records daily to assure accuracy and completeness. · Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes. · Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary. · Administer medications according to procedure. · Maintain an accurate and safe control of all drugs for which he/she is responsible. · Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary.

Requirements

Qualifications include: · Valid licensure as Licensed Practical Nurse /LPN within state of New Hampshire · Must have current CPR certification · Previous experience preferred but not required · Computer proficiency · Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills
