The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will function as a key member of the inpatient cardiology service, providing advanced clinical management, comprehensive daily rounding, and executing treatment plans for patients with various conditions. This role also involves responding to emergency department consults, performing initial assessments, ordering diagnostics, and initiating evidence-based interventions.
Candidates must be a graduate of a Master's degree Physician Assistant program or a Master's in Nursing with an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program completion, and hold current Tennessee licensure for their respective role (PA or APN). Required certifications include BLS and ACLS, with prior Critical Care, ED, or CVICU experience being preferred but not mandatory.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to join our General Cardiology team. This role includes rounding on hospitalized patients, managing acute cardiac conditions and collaborating with the cardiology team to ensure continuity of care. The provider will also respond to cardiology consults from the ED, performing timely evaluations and initiating appropriate treatment plans. The position follows a 7 on/7 off day shift schedule and covers both Baroness hospital and Erlanger East, offering a dynamic and fast paced environment for advance practice providers who thrive in acute care settings and enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Graduate of Masters degree Physician Assistant program OR Masters degree in Nursing with successful completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
Experience Preferred: Critical Care, ED or CVICU experience is a plus but not required
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

The position follows a 7 on/ 7 off day shift schedule and covers both Baroness hospital and Erlanger East, requiring a high level of autonomy, clinical acumen and proficiency in managing acute cardiac conditions in a hospital setting.
