The Enterostomal Therapist provides acute and rehabilitative care for patients with stomas, draining wounds, fistulae, incontinence, or tissue trauma, managing complex wounds including NPWT and pressure ulcers. This role involves extensive patient and family education regarding wound care, ostomy care, and appliance maintenance in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and hold a valid Florida RN license, along with American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire. Generally, 5 to 7 years of related experience is required, with wound care nursing experience being strongly preferred.

Summary The Enterostomal Therapist aids hospital staff and physicians in the care of patients with stomas, draining wounds, fistulae, incontinence, or potential or actual tissue trauma. Manages patients with post-operative surgical wounds requiring packing or negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), pressure ulcers and vascular ulcers. Provides support and education to patients and their families, including pre and post-operative teaching, wound care, ostomy care, and ostomy appliance maintenance/trouble-shooting.
Provides acute and rehabilitative care for people with selective disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integument systems in inpatient and outpatient settings. Provides patient/family education. Assists providers with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care and maintains appropriate patient documentation, records, and charts. Follows and performs all related unit specific policies and procedures, as detailed on the unit specific competency check-list. Utilizes job and unit specific equipment as required. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned. Experience Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
Preferred Experience Wound Care nurse experience, strongly preferred. Education Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
