The role involves circulating or scrubbing for various ophthalmic procedures, such as complex cataracts and retinal surgeries, while maintaining a sterile and efficient operating room environment. Responsibilities also include assisting with pre-operative and PACU flow, including patient assessment and discharge, working closely with surgeons and the clinical team.
Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of experience in an Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery Center, although ophthalmology experience is preferred, and the center is willing to train those with strong OR fundamentals. Applicants are required to hold an active, unencumbered Florida RN license along with current BLS and ACLS certifications, and must demonstrate strong pacing skills for a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for an experienced OR Nurse [or Surgical Tech] to join St. Michael's Surgery Center in Largo on a per diem basis.

We invest heavily in our facility. You'll be working with complex, top-tier technology, including Zeiss Opmi Lumera surgical microscopes and Centurion Cataract Vision Systems.
Ophthalmology is high-volume, but our team is experienced and well-coordinated. We run a tight schedule in a modern, 7,500 square-foot facility.
Circulate [or scrub] for a variety of ophthalmic procedures, including complex cataracts, corneal transplants, eye shunt implants, and retinal surgeries.
Maintain a sterile, safe, and efficient environment in the OR.
Assist with pre-op and PACU flow, including patient assessment and discharge.
Work closely with our surgeons and dedicated clinical team to keep the surgical day moving safely.
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery Center experience. (Ophthalmology experience is preferred, but we are happy to train someone with strong OR fundamentals).
Active, unencumbered FL RN license
Current BLS and ACLS.
Strong pacing—you need to be comfortable in a fast-turnaround environment and work well as part of a close-knit team.
