The technologist creates, manipulates, and stores radiographic images for diagnostic and interventional cardio-vascular procedures while performing various technical and supportive patient care tasks. Essential duties include assisting physicians during complex procedures like heart catheterization, angioplasty, and stenting, alongside patient monitoring and emergency response.
Candidates must graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Radiologic Technology program and complete specialized training in cardio-vascular procedures. Required credentials include California Radiologic Technologist and Fluoroscopy Certificates, ARRT Certification in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
Under general supervision: creates, manipulates, enhances, stores/records analog and digital radiographic images that visualize areas of interest involved in diagnostic and interventional cardio-vascular procedures and examinations; performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks.
