The Physical Therapy Assistant implements treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain mobility and functional abilities. They are responsible for monitoring patient progress and educating patients and their families on necessary exercises and therapies.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program and hold a current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of employment, along with current BLS/CPR certification. A minimum of six months of directly related experience is required, along with knowledge of regulatory standards and computer applications.
