The Pharmacy Technician performs packaging, manipulative, repetitive, or other non-discretionary tasks related to furnishing drugs under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, which includes filling and delivering unit dose cassettes to nursing units. Essential functions involve accurately pulling medications against computer-generated profiles, maintaining floor stock, preparing IV medications, and processing wholesaler orders and returns.
The role requires performing various technical pharmacy tasks under pharmacist supervision, including medication handling and inventory management. Preferred education includes a High School Diploma/GED or an Associate's/Technical Degree, but a State Pharmacy Technician license in CA and OR is required, with Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification being preferred.
