The physician is responsible for overseeing the medical care and treatment of patients provided by the hospice interdisciplinary team and must consult and cooperate with the patients' attending physicians. This role involves providing direction and guidance to hospice staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality standards of care for patients and their families.
The physician must actively participate in the clinical education and training for hospice patient care, admissions, and administrative personnel. The role requires acting as an expert in the field, committed to professionalism, collaboration, and continuous growth within the hospice mission.
