The Unit Clerk performs clerical duties in the nursing unit and coordinates information flow between patients, families, and the healthcare team. Responsibilities include maintaining electronic medical records and managing medical and office supply inventory.
Candidates should preferably have a high school diploma or GED and must be at least 18 years of age. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move freely within a clinical environment is required.
SCHEDULE: 12-hour Day shift (7a-7p) Every 3rd weekend requirement 2-3 holidays per year UNIT DETAILS (Emergency Department- Neenah Hospital): The Neenah Emergency Room is a Level II trauma center as well as a comprehensive stroke center. The care team in the department is highly trained in all aspects of patient care but excels in our primary mission of both trauma and neurological emergency care. The department has 13 beds with 2 dedicated trauma rooms with a focus on timely, patient centered and collaborative care. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Coordinates the flow of information via multiple channels between patients, family, and members of the healthcare team both inside and outside of the department to ensure safe and efficient patient care. Performs clerical duties related to patient information and events within the electronic medical record that provides an accurate and current record. Performs inventory management including ordering medical or office supplies to guarantee correct par levels.
High School diploma or GED preferred Must be 18 years of age PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normally works in climate controlled office environment Frequent sitting with movement throughout office space Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents. Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients. Use of computers throughout the work day Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers
