The Certified Peer Specialist will provide group and individual counseling sessions utilizing personal recovery experiences to motivate patients and facilitate their control over their lives and recovery process. Key duties include peer mentoring, leading recovery groups, advocating for patients, and completing accurate documentation of all interventions.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years of experience working in a behavioral health setting. Required certifications include being a Certified Peer Specialist, CPR, and de-escalation/restraint certification.
Overview Belmont Behaavioral Health is seeking a part time Certified Peer Specialist for our state of the art facility in Philadelphia. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Three or more years' experience working in a behavioral health setting is required. Certification as a Peer Specialist Purpose Statement Provide group and individual counseling sessions using personal experiences in mental health & substance use recovery as inspiration and motivation. while also allowing for expression of persons’ experiences in recovery.
