The Echocardiology Technician performs ECHO procedures according to scope and standards, reviews patient history, educates patients, and prepares/administers contrast media or medications when ordered. They must continually monitor patient conditions, implement safety standards, and perform quality control on imaging equipment.
Candidates must possess an Associate’s Degree, current Echo Registry, and BLS certification, with Echo certification required or registry eligible within one year. The role demands critical thinking, decisive judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and the capacity to handle stressful environments.
