The Patient Care Technician provides delegated, patient-centered care under the supervision of an RN or LPN/LVN, assisting with activities of daily living and maintaining a safe care environment. Key duties include collecting and recording patient data like vital signs, assisting with mobility, and ensuring effective communication within the healthcare team.
Candidates should ideally have 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or be currently enrolled in a Nursing program. Required skills include basic knowledge of patient care practices, strong organizational abilities for fast-paced environments, and effective communication skills.
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated tasks in alignment with the PCT's training and the department's needs. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) (LVN at Texas facilities), the PCT supports patient care by assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe and organized care environment, and ensuring effective communication within the healthcare team.
