The technologist performs mammography procedures based on physician orders or screening guidelines, applying judgment regarding exposure factors, imaging technique, and patient care. A key part of the role is ensuring patients feel respected and secure during diagnostic exams.
Candidates must be graduates of a certified Radiologic Technology school and possess at least one year of prior experience in General Radiology, with Mammography experience being preferred. Required licensure includes a current state license in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology, MQSA compliance, and A.R.R.T. registration in both Radiology and Mammography.
Performs mammography procedures according to physician's orders, or screening guidelines, utilizing knowledge and judgment in regard to exposure factors, imaging technique, and patient care. Demonstrates proficiency in the field of Mammography.
Education: Graduate of certified Radiologic Technology school or program.
