The Psychiatric Nursing Intern under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse would assist and provide support to clients in maintaining a therapeutic environment.
Other responsibilities include ensuring patient safety; acting to implement nursing and medical instruction for patients; and charting patient information as directed.
Additionally, they take an active role in learning the job requirements of a Registered Nurse by shadowing, and when appropriate, assisting in tasks as directed.
Will refine skills of Mileu Management and Therapeutic Communication.

Meet minimum qualifications: Must be within 2 semesters or less of completing an Associates and/or Bacherlors degree from an accredited Registered Nurse prgoram. Must successfully complete the psychiatric Technician Course as designed and provided by Montana State Hospital and maintain competency in the knowledge, skills, and abilities through a minimum of 12 hours of provided continuing education per year.
