Resume Required with application Summary The Respiratory Therapist provides diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic respiratory care under the supervision of a physician and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. Care is provided to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. This position serves as the second Respiratory Therapist on duty, providing additional respiratory care coverage across the hospital and supporting emergency response and patient care needs. Key Responsibilities Perform respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, airway management, and mechanical ventilation Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing such as blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing Assess patients and adjust respiratory therapies based on clinical response and diagnostic results Perform routine patient rounds, monitor equipment, and ensure proper infection control procedures Respond to Rapid Response and Code Blue events and provide respiratory support as needed Collaborate with physicians and the care team to support patient care planning and disease management Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ensure proper operation and safety standards Qualifications Minimum Requirements Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program Current Massachusetts Respiratory Care Practitioner license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential ACLS and PALS certifications Prior acute care respiratory therapy experience THE ADVANTAGES OF WORKING WITH BAYSTATE!
